John Bluford Receives ACHE President’s Award and AMC Presidential Award

The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) named John W. Bluford III, LFACHE, as recipient of the 2022 President’s Award. Given by ACHE’s president and CEO, the President’s Award is presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of healthcare and to recognize exceptional, exemplary service outside the bounds of ACHE’s traditional, formal awards program. Bluford is only the fifth recipient of the award since its inaugural year in 2005. He received his award during the ACHE’s 65th Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Chicago, IL.

Bluford was also awarded the 2022 Louis W. Sullivan, MD Award | Association of Medical Colleges (AMC) Presidential Award. Named after the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services from 1989-1993, the Sullivan Award is given to an individual who demonstrates, through their leadership, a commitment to diversifying the health care workforce.
